Darby River Half Marathon and 10 km fun run
Wilsons Promontory National Park, only 3 hours from Melbourne offers fantastic trail running for people wanting to experience coastal trail running at its best. The Darby River course offers a great introduction to trail running for the novice trail runner or for road runners looking to explore trails. For more experienced trail runners it is a great coastal run with amazing scenery. It forms part of a great weekend family running adventure when joined with the Wilsons Prom 100 (44/60/100 km) which is held on the Saturday.

Date: Sunday 03 May 2020
Start/Finish: Darby River car park, Wilsons Promontory National Park
Registration: From 9:00 A.M. at the car park. Look for the large white Running Wild banners. At registration you will receive your race bib.
Start time: 10 A.M. for 10 km/21 km
Entry Fees:
21 km – Adults $70, Children 14–18 $40
10 km – Adults $55, Children 12–18 $30
Late entry fees apply from 20 April – Adults $85, Children $45 both distances
Late entries: Online entries accepted until 09:30 A.M. on race day, Adults $85, Children $45 both distances
Pre race check in: Check in and receive your race numbers at least 15 minutes before the start. A pre run briefing will take place 5 minutes before the start.
Presentations: Around 12 noon at the registration tent, this is an approximate time based on around 75% of the finishers being in.
Drink Stations: Drink stations and nibbles will be located at the start/finish line and Darby Saddle. NB—no cups are provided, please carry your own water container/cup.
Navigation: This is a marked out and back course.
Equipment: All runners must carry as a minimum: a 500 ml water bottle, pressure bandage (rolled ankle/snake bite), mobile phone.
First aid: Will be located at the start/finish and Darby Saddle.
Terrain: This is a flat to undulating course on a well benched single track with a climb up to Darby Saddle.
Other users: Please show consideration to other users of the trails as well as other runners. In some places the trail is very narrow. Please give way to downhill runners.
Rubbish: Rubbish bags will be located at the start/finish and Darby Saddle. Please do not discard wrappers/gels on the track.
Snakes: Snakes are present in the area and are often seen on the track or on the side of the track. In most conditions they will move away from you. Please treat them with caution. If they are around they will be hungry. Wait for them to move away or go around them, alert other runners if you see a snake. Treat all snakes as poisonous.
Bush Fire: If the day is declared a code red bushfire day or there is a fire in the area of the run, it will be rescheduled.
